  This place is so-so AT BEST. Unfortunately most times we’ve visited, it’s not been at it’s best. Why do we keep coming back? Laziness. Don’t judge! It’s just a quick and easy option after a round of golf. Most of the time the staff is nice enough but completely disorganized bringing the wrong food out, mixing up orders, running extremely slow and forgetting certain menu items may not be available (I could write an entirely separate post on this). When they get the food right, it’s ok, some items are better than others but generally nothing to complain about.
  The experience we had today is fuelling this post as it is the final straw. We won’t be back, no matter how lazy we’re feeling!
  We had called for an Easter brunch reservation three weeks in advance. We spoke to a male who took our family name and contact info confirming our time slot. When we called to confirm and double check the exact reservation time the night before we found that we didn’t have a reservation. !! The person on the phone was rude and inconsiderate accusing us of not ever having called for a reservation in the first place and saying odd things like ‘we don’t take Easter reservations before we know the menu’ and ‘you couldn’t have spoken to a male when you called’. Rather that being accommodating and apologetic he was accusatory and argumentative. We were left feeling extremely disappointed but after some reflection, we recognize we should perhaps be feeling relieved. Fate has reminded us that based on our experiences, we shouldn’t bother with Slate anymore, especially not for meals more significant than just a quick lunch.
